Andreas Kisser is a Brazilian born musician best known as the guitarist for metal band Sepultura and HAIL! Kisser got his start as a roadie for Sepultura but quickly joined the band after a successful try out when the group needed a replacement for former guitarist Jairo Guedes. Soon after, he would change the direction of the band towards a more progressive sound as can be heard in their 1987 album, Schizophrenia.

Kisser’s signature style can be traced back to his classical guitar training he received as a child along with the ’70s metal sound that influenced him at a young age. Although he mainly uses Jackson guitars, he has recently been endorsed by Fender and is now regularly using the company’s Stratocaster model. Kisser’s guitar tone can be attributed to his use of EMG SA Active pickups, a popular choice among several of metal’s best guitarists as these pickups offer the added power and signal boost of an active pickups with the signature controlled sound of the EMGs.
