I have a decent Onkyo receiver and an old school Dual701 turntable that I play music thru, but was looking for something that would let me fine tune the sound for each album.
I picked up this unit for $329 and it was easily the best money ever spent for my system. I can fine tune and bring out the subtle nuances perfectly for each album - its great to sit and dial in the frequencies until you hear exactly what you you want. You can really hear what you've been missing. (Posted on 8/10/2012)

I hate that now days the only EQ you get on your stereo are crappy DSP settings that never sound right.
I go this unit to flatten room response and bring back some presence to the music that is played.
The FDC is a great idea, it helps you dial in any hot frequencies before they clip.
For a sub $500 EQ this thing does exactly what I need and sounds great. (Posted on 5/15/2012)
