MONO was founded by industrial designer and self-taught musician Daniel Kushner in 2006, as a fusion between his two passions, drumming and design. He wanted to make gear that would stand up to the abuse of a touring musician, while also be innovative in design and look great. When the company officially launched in 2007 at the winter NAMM expo, the results were unanimous; artists, distributors and members of the music community all believed in and supported the efforts of MONO. Today MONO has some big name musicians carrying their bags like The Roots, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Brian Hardgroove of Public Enemy and Vernon Reid and Doug Wimbish of Living Colour.

MONO strives to be a forward thinking company by eliminating PVC materials from their clothing line and designing animal-free products (no leather, suede, skins, etc). MONO also supports local schools, bands and music programs in the San Francisco area.

The MONO M80 electric guitar case, the M80 stick bag, and the M80 bass guitar case, are some of the most protective cases a gigging musician can get, and they look awesome. And MONO guitar straps are designed to be comfortable, breathe well, and let you focus on the music, and not the instrument. The MONO Betty strap may just be the most comfortable guitar strap ever made! The M80 line that launched the brand is still a favorite among MONO fans, and will remain a staple, right alongside the continued innovation that you can expect from a company like MONO.
