2012 marks the 20th anniversary of Blink-182
Many of you out there are finally winding down from a long and hopefully productive three day weekend celebrating our vets through beer and hot dogs but now it’s time to get back to work. But before you go and place that new cover on that TPS report, let’s check out what’s happening in the rock world, shall we?
Looks like those San Diego bred punk pop rockers are at it again – and just in time for the holidays! That’s right, Blink-182 will be releasing a brand new EP
While the band’s official site has not yet broken the news, the guys in the band took to their Twitter accounts to let the fans in on their latest project.
Bassist Mark Hoppus tweeted the following on Thursday, “@markhoppus We’re releasing some new blink-182 songs in a few weeks. Watch this space” while guitarist Tom DeLonge took it one further with “@tomdelonge New Blink EP for x mas… J”.
Moving on, looks like the Rolling Stones will be dropping a new date to their upcoming New York shows for us here in the states as the band has confirmed that they will indeed be playing at the Barclays Center on Saturday, December 8, marking the first U.S. date on “The Stones – 50 and Counting” celebration.
For all of you New Yorkers out there who want to get in on this, tickets are on general sale Monday, November 19 at 10 am so you better mark those calendars!
As far as the Stones themselves go, the band is currently rehearsing in Paris while they get ready for a series of concerts in London and – as we just mentioned – New York in support of their brand new 50th anniversary greatest hits album, Grrr!.
Although fans have been very vocal about the steep ticket prices, remember, this isn’t just any band – and one that will probably not be around much longer – so this might be the last chance to catch one of rock and roll’s greatest bands. Still though, those tickets really start eating up that wallet!
