2013 will mark 50 years in the business for Clapton*
It’s been a pretty quiet last couple of years for old Slow Hands but the legendary guitarist is out to make 2013 a year that fans can definitely look forward to.
Revealed in a post through his official website, Eric Clapton has just announced plans that he has been working on an album of all new material which should hit adorning fans by early 2013 – just in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his lengthy and critically acclaimed career.
Clapton first gained notoriety for his guitar skill very early in his career with bands such as The Bluesbreakers and the rock hall of famers The Yardbirds then kept it going with a series of classic groups and solo efforts.
And just in case that you might need some of that signature blues-rock a little more up close and personal, the rock and roll hall of famer also revealed that he will be hitting the live circuit with a brand new set of shows – unfortunately, you’re going to have to make your way across the pond for that one.
Set to kick off May 13 in Birmingham, UK at the LG Arena until May 23 at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Clapton will be joined by several integral members long time backing band including guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, drummer Steve Jordan and bass player Willie Weeks, as well as several others.
While members of Clapton’s official fan club have been able to purchase tickets for the show since last week, sales have today (Sept.21) opened to the general public.
