Let’s check out what’s going on in the rock world this Tuesday morning, shall we. Well, looks like all you Aerosmith fans out there better start appreciating their latest album, Music From Another Dimension!, because if a recent interview us anything, it might be their last.

The guys over at Noisecreep recently spoke to the band about their latest record and were able to get some pretty interesting responses from guitarist Joe Perry.

When asked, “It has been 11 years since an album full of new Aerosmith material. Was there some stuff that amassed over the years that made it a little easier to build the album?" Perry responded: "We always have cool things lying around, and our attitude was, we knew we had another record in us, despite what many said, and I make no bones about it, I don't know if we're gonna make another record. But this is how we used to make records.

"On this record there are some songs I don't play on, but that's how it's always been. There are songs on the first couple of records I didn't play on, it was fine; it was just how we did the songs. That's how this record went. Everybody had a little piece to say, it was important that everybody got something on it. It was just the next Aerosmith album. And this was also a statement. We did not phone this in. We worked our asses off on this record.”

There you have it; they have no plans to make another record but they never really do. Well, considering the fact that they have fulfilled their album contract with Sony/Columbia and the meager sales of their latest release – after peaking at No.6 upon its initial release it has only gone on to move a little over 100,000 units as of November 28 – a new album might not be up to Aerosmith any longer.

Anyways, you can read the entire interview is pretty insightful and covers a lot of ground with the band, including Perry’s least favorite Aerosmith albums. You can check out the entire interview here.
