You can catch the concert on Dember 12, 2012 in NYC

Happy Friday, music fans! But before we all go a head out on what should hopefully be a great weekend, let’s check out some of the bigger news in rock.

One of the best times to catch the biggest names in music outside of the major festivals is by far the relief concert and this year is no different as the tragedy that was the destruction of hurricane Sandy is far from over.

In come Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, the Who and Kanye West who will all be teaming up in concert for the Robin Hood Relief Fund to aid the victims of the hurricane’s aftermath.

Those in the New York City area can catch the star-studded even when it hits the Madison Square Garden on December 12th. Other big names slated for the event include Billy Joel, Roger Waters, Alicia Keys and more to be announced.

According to a statement released by promoters James Dolan, John Sykes and Harvey Weinstein, the concert will be “a showcase of music royalty. The response from the entertainment community to help those most affected by Hurricane Sandy has been nothing short of astounding. We expect to announce additional legendary performers in the near future and we are confident that the event will ensure those in need will not be forgotten, and vital aid will be directed to rebuilding our communities along the East Coast."

For those of you out there who would like some more info on tickets and VIP packages along with further details on the telecast of the event, more information is said to be released in a few days through the “12-12-12” concert website.
