Get ready to catch some of the biggest names in music when
Coachella kicks off on April 12, 2013.
Well, after months of rumors and weeks of speculation, Coachella’s lineup – the real one this time – has finally been released. No, the Rolling Stones will not be headlining this year’s event but a little band from Southern California known as the Red Hot Chili Peppers are looking to oblige – along with Phoenix and Blur.
And as far as that infamous photo of a stone posted by the festival’s official Facebook feed that led many to assume it referred to a rag-tag group of geriatric British rockers – turns out they meant The Stone Roses. Who knew!?
As reported earlier, The Postal Service will in fact make their first appearance since reuniting so fans of the poignant persuasion can look forward to that.
For those of you who remember last year’s dual weekend format, it will be making its return which should make getting tickets a bit easier.
As always, you can expect a slew of artists from across several genres. Notable acts on deck include Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, Jurassic 5, Bat for Lashes, the Decedents, Dinosaur Jr., The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Dropkick Murphys, Vampire Weekend, the Wu-Tang Clan, Franz Ferdinand, Grizzly Bear, Tame Impala, The Gaslight Anthem as well the Irish-bred Two Door Cinema Club.
You can check out the entire lineup at Coachella’s official website right here.
Tickets will be on sale here starting Tuesday, January 29th, at 10 AM PST. The festival itself will take place April 12-14 and 19-21 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
