For the first time in its 25-year history, Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit Concert will be broadcast live. The event, taking place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, can be viewed by anyone with an Internet connection (via the Bridge School’s Facebook and YouTube pages), according to Ultimate Classic Rock.

The entire show on Saturday, October 22, will be featured. Performers include Young (of course), Eddie Vedder, Carlos Santana (with Los Invisibles), Arcade Fire, Dave Matthews, Norah Jones, Mumford and Sons and assorted “special guests.” The broadcast begins at 7:30 p.m. Eastern/4:30 p.m. Pacific. The second day of the event (Sunday, October 23) will not be broadcast.

Neil and his wife Pegi Young began hosting the charity shows in 1986. Proceeds benefit the school, which helps children who are disabled and/or have communication difficulties.

Neil Young

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Neil Young’s first Bridge School Benefit Concert, and the two-day event will be filled with some of music’s biggest names. On the bill: Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, Tony Bennett, Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Carlos Santana, Beck, Mumford and Sons and Diana Krall, according to Spinner.

This year’s Bridge School Benefit shows will take place October 22-23 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Tickets go on sale on September 16. Proceeds will benefit the school, which helps children who are disabled and/or have communication difficulties.

The first Bridge School concert was held in 1986 and featured Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The show was taken place every year since, with the exception of 1987, when it was cancelled. Last year’s event included the reunion of Buffalo Springfield, after more than 40 years apart.

Last night Buffalo Springfield rocked the stage at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

"We're Buffalo Springfield, we're from the past" Neil Young told the audience. Original members, Young, Stills and Richie Furay, were joined by bass player Rick Rosas and drummer Joe Vitale, replacing deceased members Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin.
A performance that marked the group's 7th time on stage together since disbanding 43 years ago.

The crowd was treated to a rockin' rendition of "Blackbird" that had Young and Stills jamming out for ten minutes. They played their classic hit "For What It's Worth" and closed out the set with Young's original, "Rockin in the Free Word".

The 4-day, multi-stage Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival which takes place every June on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, celebrates its 10th Birthday today! For its peaceful vibe, near-flawless logistics, and unrivaled entertainment options, Rolling Stone magazine named this revolutionary entertainment experience one of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll. Below is a clip of artists, festival promoters, staff and a few fans that were asked what they think "Bonnaroo" means. Enjoy!
