Dave Grohl and Sir Paul McCartney during the 12-12-12 concert.

In a recent interview with Los Angeles radio station KROQ FM’s Kevin and Bean, Dave Grohl shared about the story behind one of 2012’s most discussed performances between himself, the surviving members of Nirvana along with Sir Paul McCartney – otherwise known as “Sir-vana” [not really].

They performed their high attack tune “Cut Me Some Slack” during the Sandy super storm 12-12-12 benefit relief concert and then once again during the Grammy Awards but not many know how it all came to be – until now, that is.

The unlikely pairing came about while Grohl was putting together a long list of impressive performers for the sound track to his directorial debut, Sound City, based on the famous Van Nuys recording studio of the same nam.

As Grohl notes, he's jammed with Paul "a bunch of times" (the 2012 and 2009 GRAMMYs, among other times over the years), so when he called up Paul to jam about eight months ago while working on Sound City ...

The Jersey shore was among the hardest hit regions in the area

Morning music fans! While the mega storm Sandy itself has now finally passed on, the devastation from the aftermath remains far too real. While most Americans are doing what they can to help – such as donating blood and or funds to the American Red Cross – musicians are doing what they can to help in the best way they know how – by rocking all night long.

It has been confirmed by Reuters that none other than Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Christina Aguilera will be headlining a benefit concert for the victims of Sandy and will air on NBC and its affiliated NBC Universal networks this Friday, November 2nd.

NBC stated on its official website that all of the money collected from the concert and programming will be used to directly help those hardest hit by the mega storm by donating the funds to the aforementioned American Red Cross.

The network also stated that the concert, which will be titled “Hurricane Sandy: C...

Sandy can slow them down, but can't stop KISS*

As all of us here in the South Bay dust off our winter coats for a week of 60 degree weather, we hope everyone out there in the east coast is safe and secure while Sandy makes her way. We’ve already heard about how this storm has postponed the presidential campaign, knocked down several east coast servers, extended the trade deadline for the NFL and knocked out power for millions – and now a possible delay of KISS Kruise?

Unfortunately for all of you KISS kids out there who already purchased tickets to the sold out trip slash concert, it very well might. The band has released on its KISS Kruise website that the KISS themed ocean liner cruise might be postponed due to hurricane Sandy.

“We are aware that Hurricane Sandy is affecting many of your travel plans getting to Miami this week,” reads the statement. “We're working with Norwegian Cruise Line to delay our departure time from Miami on Wednesday as well as an alternate destination port to a...

As far as rock stars go, few are as iconic and varied as Bob Dylan. The legendary folk singer turned electric, then back again, has had a few forays into the big screen but never has one of his albums been turned into a full feature film – until now.

Brazilian based production company RT Features is set to turn Dylan’s “Blood on the Tracks” into a proper movie and although the storyline has yet to be disclosed, the company promises they will find a director with a “unique” vision for the project.

Those familiar with the singer-songwriter will remember (with varied feelings) previous Dylan silver screen ventures such as “Pat Garret and Billy the Kid” for which Dylan co-starred and contributed cover friendly creations such as “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” for the film score, as well as winning a Best Song Oscar for his contribution to “Wonder Boys.”

“Blood on the Tracks” is not only considered one of Dylan’s finest creations but one of the best albums in rock, feature classic tracks such as ...
