U2 played to a packed Olympic stadium on Friday in Turin Italy, with Bono showing no after-effects following his recent spinal surgery.

Bono thanked the cheering crowd for letters and emails he had received wishing him a speedy recovery, and paid tribute to his band mates.

The first show of U2’s second European leg opened with a lengthy, guitar-heavy instrumental jam called “Return of the Stingray Guitar,” and also included the two new songs, “Glastonbury” and a acoustic ballad “North Star”.
