Great Mic! Review by sammie

I was looking at the AKG414 like my friend has, but i checked some of the reviews and blogs that said this was like a vintage 414, and took a chance on this 'cause it was cheaper. Well dang! It's great, it's much smoother than the 414, and alot warmer on my voice. I am getting another so we can use them as overheads, and my buddy is selling his 414 after hearing mine. We can get two SE's for about the price of a single AKG, and the SE is heavier and feels better built. The shock mount takes a little to figure out, and is a litle stiff to get the mic in, but once i realised I could put this right up against something I was cool with it. Seriously great mic for the $$$! (Posted on 10/24/2014)
Very Versatile Condensor Mic Review by t

I love all the features this thing has, it's almost like a 414 but less expensive. I'm sure there are some differences inside but you'd have to have an excellent ear to tell the difference. This guy can record multiple instruments well. Good for a room mic when recording guitars, good on acoustic instruments and an excellent vocal mic in it's own right. 4 polarities (omni, cardioid, hypercardioid and figure 8), has roll offs and pads. Very cool mic. (Posted on 5/3/2012)
