Vince Gill is an American country musician and multi-instrumentalist best known as the frontman for the ‘70s country band Pure Prairie League and later as a solo artist. He has sold over 22 million records and has charted over 40 singles on the U.S. Billboard’s Hot Country Singles. During the ‘80s, Gill was sought after as a guest vocalist due to his unique singing voice and proficiency in several instruments including the guitar, banjo and mandolin. Along with 27 Grammy awards (more than any other male country performer), Gill has earned 18 CMA awards and has been inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Being a traditionalist, Gill is known for his admiration of classic guitars such as vintage Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters, various Gibson models and several Martin acoustic guitars. As with his guitars, Gill prefers older vintage model amps such as the ’59 Fender Bassman and the ’65 Fender Deluxe Reverb. Although his taste in guitars and amps are on the classic side, his effects setup is anything but, using your standard professional’s setup of effects including flangers, chorus, delay, etc., from a wide variety of brands.
