Def Leppard Live Australia

Hold on to your spandex rock fans, hair-metal heroes Def Leppard have announced the dates of their upcoming North American summer tour, bringing along with them other notable ‘80s acts such as Poison as well as female metal legend Lita Ford.

The tour will embark on the first leg of its journey on June 20th in Salt Lake City and will feature 18 stops along the way, ending its trek on July 22 in Cadott, Wisconsin at their 18th annual Rock Fest, a four day festival featuring a bevy of legendary groups such as Kiss, Boston and Steve Miller Band just to name a few.

This isn’t the first time the two bands have decided to join forces in recent years. "We had such a good time going out with Poison in 2009 that we thought it only right to do it again," said Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott.

In a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Def Leppard guitarist Phill Collen spoke of the relationship between the two bands. “We toured with [Poison] a couple of years ago and we’ve obviously known them since the ’80s. When you’re a band that’s successful and there’s other bands in your genre, at some point you’re going to bump into them one time or another. So we’ve known those guys for years, they’re great and we get on well with them.”
