Robert Plant CBE

While we haven’t heard any word on an official Led Zeppelin reunion or let alone another show since their off-shot show in London a few years back, fans of the legendary rock band will be pleased to know that Zep singer Robert Plant has announced a brand new band that at the very least will feature the well known crooner’s signature bluesy voice.

This Is Gloucestershire reports that Plant has begun preparations for a brand new band and will begin performing  live shows as soon as next month when he plans to debut The Sensational Space Shifters at a May 8th concert at the Gloucester Guildhall in Gloucester, England.

"It gives me great pleasure to announce Led Zeppelin frontman and award-winning solo artist Robert Plant will be performing an exclusive low-key warm-up show at Gloucester Guildhall next month,” said Programming and Marketing Manager Joe Schiavon. "This is obviously a massive show for us, and we can't wait to host it.”

"The show, entitled Robert Plant Presents Sensational Space Shifters, will be his first with his new band, ahead of a busy summer festival schedule."

Plant has kept himself relatively busy in the world of rock and roll as compared to the rest of his former Led Zeppelin bandmates, who have done much more behind the scenes as of late, such as a highly successful tour with Alison Krauss and plenty of work with his other group, Band of Joy.

Along with regular collaborator Justin Adams, the new group will include members of Plant’s former backing band, Strange Sensation.
